FOR STUDENTS

Tell us what’s missing.

Your report and photo stay on the school server for staff review. If you add written identifying details and opt in below, your description and the staff’s private item notes are processed by Google Gemini to compare descriptions. Do not include sensitive information. Google says free-tier content may be used to improve its products.

Add identifying details, a photo, or both.

A photo you already have of your missing item can help staff compare it.

Matches must be in the same category and have been found on your lost date or within the following 3 days. Staff confirm ownership before pickup.

SCHOOL OFFICE · STAFF ONLY

Add a found item.

The public board shows only the item type. This photo, found location, date, and notes stay in the staff desk.

When the student opts in, Gemini compares these notes with their written details. Don’t enter sensitive information.

Choose a clear photo of one item. The server prepares it for future photo comparisons.

Back to the right student.

  1. Staff record found items.

They choose a category and upload a photo, found location, and date. Only the general item type appears publicly.

  2. Students report a loss.

Choose the category, enter the lost date and location, and add private identifying details or a photo. Gemini text matching is optional.

  3. The server compares eligible evidence.

Only items in the same category, found on the lost date or within the next 3 days, become candidates. MobileNetV2 compares photos locally on the server. With student opt-in, Gemini compares only the lost and found descriptions; no names, contacts, photos, or locations are sent.

  4. School staff decide.

Staff compare the photos, locations, dates, and identifying details. A similarity score is not proof of ownership. Pickup approval and physical handover are recorded separately.
